24 Hours Biennially
Including 3 Hours of Ethics
LTC producers ONLY including Initial 8 hours LTC, 4 hours LTC every 24 months thereafter
License Renewal Date:
License renewal date is the agent's date of birth.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit:
Classroom Courses
Self-Study Courses
Online Courses
An Instructor can earn the same number of credit hours as a student
Final Exam:
All correspondence course examinations must be proctored.  Proctors must provide an affidavit attesting under oath or affirmation that the correspondence or electronic course examination was proctored, that the examination was provided in a manner specified by the correspondence course provider, and that they are not part of or aware of any efforts to circumvent the requirements of the examination, 
Specific Monitor Affidavit Needed (Appendix G).
Course Subject Requirements:
One Until Further Notice the Arkansas Insurance Department will no longer enforce the provision of Section 9 of Rule 82. Until Rule 82 is revised, the four (4) hour annual annuity training will no longer be required
Effective Jan 1, 2011 - Three (3) hours of ethics each compliance period.
Long Term Care Requirements:
All long-term care agents must complete an 8-hour training course by 7/1/09 and a 4-hour follow-up course must be complete every 24 months thereafter
Carryover Requirements:
Effective Jan 1, 2011 - Up to twenty-four (24) credit hours can be carried over to the next compliance period.  This does not apply to ethics courses.
Course Repetition:
Credit will not be given for a course that is repeated within 2-years of its original completion date. This does not apply to ethics courses.
Exemptions:
Any person who is licensed in the state of Arkansas less than one year upon renewal.
Any person who is at least 60 years of age, but only if licensed prior to 7/1/03.
Any person who has been actively licensed as an agent or broker for at least 15 consecutive years, but only if licensed prior to 7/1/03.
Any person holding limited lines licenses for which they do not have to take an exam.
Any person holding a limited or restricted license.
Individuals in their first full year of licensure following the year they made a change in residency or domicile to Arkansas.
Third-party administrators who do not solicit business.
