24 Hours Biennially
Including 3 Hours of Ethics
LTC Producers ONLY Including Initial 8 Hours LTC, 4 Hours LTC State Specific

Effective February 13, 2011 Producers licensed to sell, solicit or negotiate annuities prior to 7/01/2011 must complete a one-time 4-hour Annuity Training course by January 1, 2012 in order to continue to sell annuities. Producers licensed after 7/01/2011 must complete this training before selling, soliciting or negotiating annuity products
License Renewal Date:
Effective January 1,2011 - The license renewal date is the last day of the agents birth month.
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit:
Classroom Courses
Self-Study Courses
Online Courses
Instructors will receive double the course credits as the students
Final Exam:
Self-study examinations are not required to be proctored.  The student must complete an affidavit certifying that he or she took the exam without assistance of another person.

Course Subject Requirements:
An individual may receive up to 10 credit hours for having insurance-related articles
and/or books published.
Effective January 1, 2011, - Three (3) hours of ethics each compliance period
Effective February 13, 2011 - Ohio insurance agents will need to comply with the new rule titled "Suitability in Annuity Transactions". Producers licensed to sell, solicit or negotiate annuities prior to 7/01/2011 must complete a one-time 4-hour Annuity Training course by January 1, 2012 in order to continue to sell annuities. Producers licensed after 7/01/2011 must complete this training before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products
LONG TERM CARE REQUIREMENT:
Initial 8-hour state specific LTC course required, compliance by 9/1/08.
4 hours LTC every 24 months thereafter
Carryover Requirements:
 Credit hours cannot be carried over to the next compliance period
Course Repetition:
Credit may not be given for a course that is repeated within a compliance period
Exemptions:
Newly licensed individuals begins the following 1/1, any courses taken before that time will not be credited for the 1st CE compliance period.
Individuals who are retired or no longer active but must maintain their license to receive renewal commissions.
Non-resident agents if their state has CE requirements and a reciprocal agreement with Ohio.
Corporations, Partnerships, and LLC's who hold licenses
Persons holding a limited authority license.
Persons granted inactive license status by the State Director of Insurance.
