Utah State Requirements:

Continuing Education Hours:
24 Hours Biennially
Including 3 Hours of Ethics

Effective May 10,2011
Utah resident producers with an accident and health line of authority must complete three hours of initial training before selling LTCI. Those resident producers must also take three hours of ongoing training during every 24-month licensing period

License Renewal Date:
License renewal date is the last day of the producer's birth month
Types of courses accepted for CE Credit:
Classroom Courses – must complete 12 hours in Classroom credit
Self-Study Courses
Online Courses
Instructors will receive twice the number of credit hours as the students
Final Exam:
Final exam is not required to be monitored.
Course Subject Requirements:
Three (3) hours of ethics each compliance period
Twenty-One (21) hours can be in any line of insurance
LONG TERM CARE REQUIREMENT:
Effective May 10, 2011 - Utah resident producers with an accident and health line of authority must complete three hours of initial training before selling LTCI. Those resident producers must also take three hours of ongoing training during every 24-month licensing period after the period in which they have completed the initial training
Carryover Requirements:
Credit hours cannot be carried over to the next compliance period.
Course Repetition:
Credit will not be given for courses that are repeated within a compliance period.
Exemptions:
Producer who, as of 4/1/90, has held a license in good standing continuously for at least 20 years in any state.
Non-resident licensee whose CE requirements are substantially similar to that of Utah.
